Programs and services for youth are constantly changing - it is best to come in and talk to the Youth Coach about what is currently available and if you’re eligible to apply.
It’s a big world out there. Are you trying to decide what you want to do? Or maybe you know where you’re headed but you don’t know how to get there. Come in and find out how we can help you with career exploration, job search tips, and training information. We’ll also tell you about upcoming programs especially for youth.
Talk to the Youth Coach for information on:
- Finding a job, self-employment and school planning
- Information on employment programs and services for youth, including wage subsidies, training programs and job search events and activities
- Assessment of career interests, aptitudes and abilities
- Techniques to make your job hunt successful, including preparing your resume and brushing up on interview skills
- Information on other community services to help you get where you want to go

Are you looking for work that interests you? Not sure what kind of job you want or how to get it? Would you like to earn $240 a week living allowance to creatively learn job search skills and take part in a work experience placement that you choose? If you would, then WorkLink’s PATHWAY Project may be right for you.
Are you:
- between 15 and 30?
- out of work?
- out of school?
- not receiving Employment Insurance now or in the last three years?
- facing a barrier or barriers to employment?
- not sure how to take the next step towards finding work you might like???
- feeling stuck???
Then you may be eligible to attend PATHWAY, a 16-week job search program. The first eight weeks takes place in workshops learning about job search, resume preparation, interview tips and personal management (budgeting, time management, team building). You will also get training and certification in First Aid, FoodSafe and Customer Service Essentials. The workshop portion is followed by 8-weeks of supported employment once you get the job you want.

"Skills Link" Youth Programs
Human Resources and Skills Development Canada has developed "Skills Link" programs for youth. Skills Link programs are designed to help youth ages 15 - 30 find work, get training or become self-employed.
You may be eligible to take part in Skills Link programs if you are:
- between 15 and 30 years old,
- out of work,
- out of full-time school,
- legally able to work in Canada,
- not receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits now or in the last three years (or five years if it was a Parental Claim), and
- facing barriers to finding employment.
