Supervise and care for children at employer’s residence
Bathe, dress and feed the children
Oversee children’s activities, such as meals, rest periods, as instructed by employer
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Tend to the emotional well-being of children
Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise
Plan, prepare and serve meals for children
May perform light housekeeping duties
Take children to and from school and to appointments
Maintain a healthy environment at home
Observe children and prepare reports for home care or babysitting agency
May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding child.
Education : Completion of secondary school may be required.
Interact well with the children of varying ages and provide activities that are engaging for their age.
First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate may be required or willing to take a course upon employment.
Able to work without being supervised.
Positive attitude towards work.
Flexible in every aspects towards children.
Child-care or household management experience may be required.
Child-care provider may require completion of a training program in child care or any related field.
Reading text, numeracy, good communication, problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing.
Must be able to speak, read and write in English fluently.
Work Experience/s & Qualification:
1 year to less than 2 years of full time paid work experience as a caregiver or in related field or occupation within the last three years.
OR 6 months of In class training for Caregiver Course.
Regular, full-time, permanent - maximum of 24 months covers 30-40hrs/week, 2 days off per week, work hours and days may vary depending on the Employer's work schedule.
Care is for:
2 children ages: 6 yr. old boy and 2 yr. old girl)
Terms of Employment:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible days
Days off are on Saturday and Sunday flexible days
Work schedule is flexible on the hours of duty.
2 years in Contract and a possibility to renew .
Pays annual vacation of 10 working days and 10 days of BC statutory holidays.
1-30 minutes paid meal break and 1-30 minutes unpaid coffee break.
