West Shore Parks and Recreation is seeking enthusiastic, imaginative individuals to facilitate our Neighbourhood Nights and StoryWalk Wednesdays programs for families with children of all ages. Staff will begin and end their shift at the Juan de Fuca Recreation center, travelling together by vehicle to the designated park each evening, where they will set up and lead activities, liaison with families, contractors, and community groups, and encourage families to be active and reconnect with others in their neighborhood.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 180 hours of direct experience planning and implementing programs and special events for youth and adults in a public recreation setting
Class 5 Driver’s License
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C are required prior to commencing employment
Outgoing and energetic personality
Ability to be imaginative and flexible to ensure a fun environment is created for participants
Excellent customer service, organizational and public relations skills required
Experience with program organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Must enjoy working in an outdoor environment
A clear and current criminal record check is a condition of employment, and is the financial responsibility of the successful candidates
