Do you remember your favorite camp leader? Did some one inspire you to imagine and spark your curiosity? West Shore Parks & Recreation is seeking adventurous individuals to create the best summer right here in the West Shore for all our crazy kids! Join us and help us deliver a variety of exciting recreation opportunities to the children of the West Shore. We currently have a number of positions available at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre and Centennial Centre. Our Camp Leaders put together daily & weekly recreational activities, focusing on providing children 5 to 11 years of age with the opportunity to cultivate friendships, experience a wide variety of sports, games, arts, crafts, special events and develop lifetime skills.
Licensed Summer Camp Program Leaders must be a minimum of 19 years of age
Non Licensed Summer Camp Program Leaders must be a minimum of 16 years of age
Minimum of 180 hours of direct experience planning and implementing programs for youth in a public recreation setting
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C are required prior to commencing employment
A Class 4 driver’s license is an asset and may be required for some positions
A clear and current criminal record check is a condition of employment, and is the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
Candidates with a combination of skills and experience other than that listed above may be considered.
Please note: Some of these positions are eligible for the Summer Career Placement Grant, and preference may be given to candidates who meet the necessary requirements (full time students between 15 – 30 years old who are enrolled in full time secondary and post-secondary studies).
