West Shore Parks & Recreation is looking for exceptional summer staff to deliver a unique summer camp opportunity for the children of the West Shore. The Aqua Adventure Summer Camp Leader will develop, plan and implement daily & weekly recreational activities for children 7 to 11 years of age. The leader is responsible for instruction of a daily 45 minute swim lesson along with a wide variety of water related activities incorporating: sports, games, arts, crafts, out trips, special events and development of lifetime skills.
During swimming lessons; planning, teaching and evaluating all age groups and all levels of swimming.
Ability to be imaginative and flexible to ensure a fun environment is created for participants.
Ability to work independently and as part of team.
Must enjoy working in an indoor or outdoor environment.
Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) required.
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C are required prior to commencing employment.
Completion of high school diploma or related post-secondary education.
Minimum of 180 hours of direct experience planning and implementing programs for youth in a public recreation setting.
Skills, knowledge and experience with specific areas such as aquatics, sports, arts, crafts are required
Communication and organizational skills required.
Customer service and public relations skills required.
